How to Prepare Sooji Halwa & Ravva Kesari Recipe : If you are looking for the sweet named Sooji Halwa Recipe then you are at right place. Ingredients to prepare Sooji Halwa Recipe:
- Ravva(Semolina) – 1 cup
- Neyi(Ghee) – 1/2 cup
- Panchadara (Sugar) – 1 cup (add 1/2 cup more if you prefers more sweet)
- For sugar free option, add any sugar free sweetner.
- Uppu (Salt) – a pinch
- Cashews/Almonds – 10 nos (We can also use pistaschio)
- Endu draksha (Raisins) – 10 nos
- Kesari food colour – One pinch (You can also use red/yellow/orange food color)
- Water – 4 cups
- Yelakulu (Cardamom) – 3 tbsp, powdered
Step by Step Procedure to cook Sooji Halwa Recipe & Ravva Kesari Recipe:
Heat the pan, pour 2 tbsp of ghee. Fry cashew, almonds and raisins and keep it aside(You can also chop or slice the nuts as per your preferences). Again heat the pan by adding another 2 tbsp of ghee. Now, take 1 cup of ravva and roast it in pan and stir it well until it turns light brown (Make sure, it should not stick to pan). Now prepare sugar syrup in order to mix with roasted ravva.
Transfer roasted ravva into other plate and take 4 cups of water and boil it in same pan. If water gets boil, add 1 cup of sugar, kesari food colour and mix it for few minutes. Now add roasted ravva to the syrup, a pinch of salt and constantly stir the mixture to avoid formation of lumps. Cook it well for 5-7 minutes, so that ravva will observe sugar syrup and becomes soft. Pour remaining ghee, add half of fried nuts and sprinkle cardamom powder. Mix it well and cook for few minutes (without sticking to pan, also ensure it should not turn so hard) . Now, off the stove and garnish the halwa with cashew and almonds over it.
Ready!! Hot and sweet Sooji Halwa can be served now:
Note : You can eat it warm or freeze it for 20 minutes and cut it into your desired shapes.
You can use this halwa as a stuff for poori, follow same procedure of making Halwa and stuff it in your home made puri. Keep prepared halwa in middle of Puri and fry it in a deep oil (We can call this as halwa poori).
